Tungsten for Sapphire Growth Furnace

Tungsten for sapphire growth furnace is for its unique properties, especiaaly for its high melting point and high temperature resistance. Porducts of tungsten for sapphire growth furnace includes tungsten crucible, tungsten plate, tungsten sheet, tungsten cover, tungsten wire, tungsten heater, tungsten heat shield, tungsten electrode screen and tungsten rhenium. And tungsten rhenium wire is not pure tungsten products, but mixing tungsten with rhenium. The most widely used one is with 25% rhenium.

Tungsten for sapphire growth furnace is steel-gray to tin-white hard metal and it is very brittle, which is difficult to be processed. The manufacturing techniques of tungsten are forging, swaging and extrusion. The melting point of tungsten is 3415 ° C. The corrosion resistance is the unique property of tungsten, most of the inorganic acid erosion is can not influence tungsten. Tungsten products will be formed on the surface of a layer of protective oxides in the air, but will be completely oxidized at high temperatures.

Sapphire is an alumina (alpha-Al2O3) single crystal, also known as corundum. The sapphire crystals with excellent optical properties, mechanical properties and chemical stability, high strength, hardness, resistance to erosion, can be work under adverse conditions close to the high temperature of 2000 ℃, which is widely used in infrared military installations, satellite space technology, high-intensity laser window materials, its unique lattice structure, excellent mechanical properties, good thermal properties of sapphire crystal the practical application of semiconductor GaN/Al2O3 of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), LSI SOI and SOS and superconducting nano-structured thin film is the most ideal substrate material.

Sapphire single crystal sapphire growth furnace is designed to nurture Kyropoulos. This method is used the raw materials (aluminum oxide) tungsten crucible to be heated to its melting point of 2050 degrees or more, and then gradually reduced the melting temperature and the crystallization into specific granules. The growth furnace is constructed in a closed mold in the insulation with a special shell, lid and heater. Therefore tungsten products are used for growing sapphire crystal.

Tungsten is widely used in the sapphire grwoth furnace is because tungsten for sapphire growth furnace owms the properties of high temperture resistance, which will not melt with sapphire.

Tungsten products

Tungsten products

tungsten products
Tungsten was discovered in 1781 by the Swedish chemist, Karl Wilhelm Scheele. Tungsten is both the most abundant of the refractory metals, and has the highest melting point of all metals, at 3,410 °C (6,170 °F). Tungsten wire filaments provide the vast majority of household incandescent lighting, but are also common in industrial lighting as electrodes in arc lamps. Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding) equipment uses a permanent, non-melting tungsten electrode. The most common use for tungsten is as the compound tungsten carbide in drill bits, machining and cutting tools. It also finds itself serving as a lubricant, antioxidant, in nozzles and bushings, as a protective coating and in many other ways. Tungsten can be found in printing inks, x-ray screens, photographic chemicals, in the processing of petroleum products, and flame proofing of textiles. Tungsten is also used by virtue of its strength and density, in applications ranging from weights in helicopter rotors and weapon projectiles to the heads of golf clubs. The largest reserves of tungsten are in China, with deposits in Korea, Bolivia, Australia, and other countries.

The main tungsten products include tungsten concentrate, ferrotungsten, APT, deep-processed tungsten products, tungsten bar, tungsten wire filament and so on.

Tungsten Alloy

Tungsten Alloy

tungsten alloy
Tungsten alloy, also named tungsten heavy alloy, generally is refractory metal, which have two-phase composites consisting of W-Ni- Fe or W-Ni- Cu or even W-Ni-Cu-Fe, some tungsten alloys are added Co、Mo、Cr, etc. They have very high melting point and have a density twice that of steel and are more than 50% heavier than lead. Tungsten content in conventional heavy alloys varies from 90 to 98 weight percent and is the reason for their high density (between 16.5 and 18.75 g/cc). Nickel, iron and copper serve as a binder matrix, which holds the brittle tungsten grains together and which makes tungsten alloys ductile and easy to machine. Nickel-iron is the most popular additive, in a ratio of 7 Ni: 3Fe or 8Ni: 2Fe (weight ratio). The conventional processing route for tungsten heavy alloy includes mixing the desired amount of elemental powders, followed by cold pressing and  liquid phase sintering to almost full density.

Molybdenum-Tungsten

Molybdenum-Tungsten(Tungsten-Molybdenum)

molybdenum tungsten
Molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W) are two elements in the same column of the periodic table. They also behave similarly in nature. The average concentration in the Earth's crust is 1.5 ppm for both elements. Molybdenum is an essential nutrient for plants and animals. At large concentrations, Mo may be toxic. This is sometimes the case for leachates from alkaline ashes. Tungsten is an important strategic metal that is used in a variety of industrial applications. It is usually mined from scheelite, CaWO4, och wolframite, (Fe,Mn) WO4. Tungsten is released to the environment, e.g. through its use in winter tires and ammunition. On the whole, the environmental behaviour of tungsten is not well known.

Tungsten Needle

tungsten needle
Tungsten needle is widely used in the construction of furnace tooling and parts and as a feedstock for the fabrication of parts for the electronics and semiconductor industries. Surface can be supplied in a shiny or matte; dependent upon the thickness and width parameters.

Tungsten needles grown from hexacarbonyl tungsten vapors in a glow-discharge condition are described. The needle growth occurs on a tungsten substrate in a temperature range from nearly room temperature to 1500 °K, but needles produced below and above ~1100 °K are quite different in morphology and crystalline state. The products at lower temperatures are tungsten particles agglomerated in dendrite like shapes while those at higher temperatures possibly are whiskers.

Tungsten ball

Tungsten point/contact

tungsten contact
Tungsten point/contacts are for use in high voltage applications, usually where highly repetitive switching is required. Tungsten has a melting temperature of 3,380℃ which gives it excellent arc-erosion resistance. Tungsten may develop troublesome oxide films, especially when used as the anode contact in some DC applications. Therefore, tungsten is often used as the cathode contact, and a palladium alloy used as the anode contact. Such a combination also minimizes contact interface resistance and material transfer.

tungsten boat
As a special and effective boat vessel, tungsten boat is widely used in metallizing, electron-beam spraying as well as the heat process with sintering and annealing in vacuum coating industries.

Tungsten boats sources are used for the vacuum evaporation of materials that are in granular or pellet form. They can also be used to evaporate small lengths of wire or to evaporate materials which would not properly "wet" the surface of an evaporation filament. These boats are ideal for use in small evaporation systems, such as bell jars, for experimental and prototype work.
